I have held a justices licence between 1992 - 1995 and since 2002 without any problems. As a small course and driving range we only attract casual drinkers after playing golf or social drinks at functions. We have however given full consideration to the licensing objectives and how these are provided for under current procedures and how they would be improved.
The prevention of crime and disorder
All bar staff are trained not to sell alcohol to anyone they feel has had sufficient or know will b e driving.
The holders of functions are advised at the time of booking that strict licensing hours are adhered to. Guests are asked to leave the premises quietly.
Public safety
The building complies with a fire regulations. All fire appliances are tested annually.
All exits are clearly marked and kept clear.
There are 5 exits in a comparatively small building therefore in an emergency it is extremely easy to exit and evacuate the building.
The prevention of public nuisance
Functions will not go on after 24.00 especially as the premises have to be prepared for opening at 08.00 the next morning. Guests are asked to leave the premises quietly although this is not a build up area. Staff instructed not to serve anyone they feel has had enough
alcohol. In 3 years since opening we have not had any incidents in association with the sale of alcohol and subsequent behaviour.
The protection of children from harm
As a small family run golf facility children are welcome. Golf is an excellent sport for juniors that requires good manners, discipline and etiquette. All our juniors are well behaved. We are extremely vigilant regarding under age drinking. No activities take place on the premises that are considered unsuitable for children and children must be accompanied at all functions.
